At least they're not talking about baseball. I went to a game once when I was in New York years ago. My God what a boring game that is. (And I speak as a cricket fan!)

Yes, baseball is very very boring. At least when you watch it on TV you can get up and go make a sandwich or something. :)

torres is an over rated, whining c**t =/

It's very true, Torres has turned into a right old bitch.

There's a great bit in The Simpsons, in the episode where Homer has given up beer. He's sitting watching the 'Springfield Isotopes' sober, looks around at the drunken enthusiasm around him and says, "I never realised how boring this game is before". :D

Beer is only thing that makes the game enjoyable. That and watching the big losers on the jumbo-tron screen. I actually have a great fondness for cricket, the other boring sport. Got a bat and everything. :D

One thing seems really positive, that it's shaping-up to be a really interesting season, with probably a lot of twists and turns along the way. May well go down to the final week this year. Apologies to Man Utd & Chelsea fans, but it would be good for the game as a whole if someone else wins the title this season. :)

Yeah Manchester City!

That's the one reason I thought I might like it.

My defence of cricket is that there's a lot of variation going on within each over and things do actually happen (especially in test cricket). I've looked for all this variation in pitching/field placement/batting tactics in baseball and frankly just can't see it. The entire game seems to be based on stats. I know they're very keen on stats in American Football as well, but at least I can see something kind-of happening in that game. Baseball just seems to be 9 innings of very little going on. :(

And crotch grabbing and ass patting and spitting and I could go on...

I'm all in favour of crotch-grabbing, I just don't count it as a professional sport. Cool

but youd die to have any one of our starting 11. your desperate for a striker, a xabi alonso type mid and a defender.

Laughing out loud Laughing out loud Laughing out loud

I'm happy with Drogba and Anelka thank you.

As I figured...

btw rooney, berb, giggs, fletcher, ferdinand, vidic, evans, macheda, gibson etc are class :)

Of those the only one I have any respect for is Giggs.

God help us - there's another Rooney on the way. I suppose that sort of thing is just instinct too.

And who's Gibson? Richard?

I agree entirely. It's always good to see another team break through. But I'm afraid that since the change in gate receipts the smaller teams just have no chance. Greedy bastards!

The best cricket I ever watched was on the T.V. Drama 'Bodyline', back in the '80s. It was a bit like a 'Rocky' film, but it was about Cricket instead of Boxing. I watched it when I was a little kid, and suddenly started playing cricket, instead of football. That lasted for about a week.

As for Americans, I will never get my head around their hatred of our football. They say it's boring, but still they love the snore-fest that is Baseball. Don't they get the Premiership over there? Didn't they hear about the 4-3 Manchester Derby from the other week? How could they not find that exciting?
