The all-in-one consolidatory football thread Page 309

Everyone in the office was talking about how much they hated John Terry, which I thought was a bit unfair.
Forget the affair with a teammates wife or alleged racism, or the stadium tours.
That man lost Chelsea the Champions league trophy by falling on his arse.
He's a hero.
I'd vote for him as Mayor.

Have to say the way the FA has handled this is crazy.

They have so far used the innocent until proven guilty line. So not sure what has changed in recent days. If this is their line then the fact the case is being heard after the Euros is neither here or there.

So now they are saying he can't be captain but can still pull on an England shirt. Sorry that is just wrong. If he isn't the sort of man who they determine is fit to be captain I don't see how they can say he is fit enough to still be part of the team.

What the FA should have done is suspend him immediately he was charged. If one of my employees was accused of this offence I would have no option but to suspend them from their position immediately until we has a result from the trial. And my employees aren't heros to hundreds of school kids.

Of course the FA aren't his employer. But can we really expect a football club do what is right?

This should be the case for anyone facing a criminal trial in any sport. They shouldn't be allowed to represent their country until they are proved innocent.

And lets hope he is found innocent...because it will be bloody mess if he isn't.

7-1! Great win for the Arse! Just when people were joking that Chris Huhne should donate his points to the Gunners, we win and win big. Van Persie hat trick, plus Henry scoring and a brace from Oxlade-Chamberlain, sweet. Hopefully this will be the start of an unstoppable run both here and in Europe.

Same here - but that's not unusual for me anyways.

What does this mean?

That I'm gurning like an eejit because I'm well chuffed with the Arsenal result. On reflection, I could've just said I'm well chuffed with Arsenal result. Or said nothing.

Why two chins?

Because my grin was so forceful it squished my head back.

What do you reckon for the score tomorrow Jamey?

United 3-1 Chelsea, I wouldn't normally be so confident but with an on form valencia on the right and Chelsea missing Ashley Cole they will probably be punished.

They do have the players to punish us if we slack off though.

Get to Old Trafford much, Jamey? It's quite a trek from Northern Ireland.

Honestly, nope not at all, it's in the plans though, hoping to get going once college is over and I've got a summer job.

Start saving now and maybe you can go as your retirement treat.
Winds me up how some people imply I'm not a proper supporter for not going to matches and then in the next breath have a go at the prawn sandwich brigade- do they prefer working class poorness (like your salary reflects how much you love your team), or people who can afford to go going?

It's all part of football banter, winding up other supporters for one or the other, I don't take it to heart, it only gets harder when you live in another country as well. The only way past it is to be a season ticket holder who made all thier money by selling their house and living in a tent just outside the stadium.

Most of my friends have been over to see there teams at one time or aother due to their parents, uncles etc. My family loath football with a passion.

Which acctually gets me on to another annoyance, why do people hate football so much? If I see a sport on Tv I don't like I switch over and watch something else, but people seam to acctivly despise football, not just for the players, but it's very existance. It baffles me.

I think it's the excesses of the Premier League that gets on people's tits.

And probably the hysteria whenever England are in a tournament- presume it's same in N.Ireland and other places, but it being on the front page of every paper and website could get tiring if you really weren't interested
