"I have always wanted to come and play in MLS so it's the perfect combination for me and a dream come true."

I certainly agree with you there, dream come true? Seams more than a tad too excited to be playing in a hird rate league situated in a country where they call the game "soccer".

"I've been a Liverpool fan all my life, going back to when I was a kid growing up in Dublin, and I always had a Liverpool shirt on my back. So, to be here now as a Liverpool player is incredible and I couldn't be happier."

"The club is brilliant. I am a Celtic fan and did not have to ask much about it. I always wanted to play for Celtic. It's absolutely fantastic to be here."

Oh goodness, all those quotes together really make him sound like a mercenary, especailly when you think the amount of years the quotes have spanned across an yet they all seam to come out identical.

I can believe him being a Celtic and Liverpool fan (especially as he comeds from Dublin) but the way he speaks about all his new clubs is far to similar.

The Guardian Fiver did a great lampoon of him when he went to Celtic last year:

Laughing out loud

I've heard lots of 'experts' saying that Robbie Keane could have done a job for any team outside the top 6 in the PL.

Bow-locks!

He's been awful since joining Liverpool. Maybe being crap there sapped his confidence. Before then he was an excellent finisher and would guarantee you 18-25 goals a season.

I wish him well.

I like this lad's style :)

Nasri hasnt even left yet has he?

Birmingham are playing in Europe tonight!! w00t!

But, don't forget, Birmingham were the first English club to play in Europe and the first in a European final!

:)

Just saw this in passing!

'The football season is very nearly upon us, and as usual there will be a multitude of thrills, spills and skills on show between now and next May.

Poetry Season (http://poetryseason.tumblr.com) is a website containing poems inspired by the beautiful game. At present it's a one-man-band, but with your help it can grow to become the most comprehensive poem-based review of the 2011/12 season the web has ever seen.

Whether you're a seasoned or fledgling poet, all submissions are welcome via http://poetryseason.tumblr.com/submit . Or you can send a response to this ad.

The only rules; make it a poem and make it football related.

A few of the pre-season efforts include:

- A Young Lad From Hull (http://goo.gl/akwLL)
- Fantasy Football Haiku (http://goo.gl/r3uDz)
- Welcome Home (http://goo.gl/I75xk)

The site is small potatoes at present, but as the archive grows, so will the interest from the wider world. If the right level of submissions come in, there's potential for monthly prizes, payment for poems, multimedia content and (in our dreams) a book deal. We shall see.

Happy versing!'

Hearts getting a bit of a pasting from Tottenham so far.

Robbie Keane,
Is A F**king Loser,
A Has Been,
Belongs In A Boozer.

I Support Spurs,
Yet He Thought Himself Too Good,
So To Answer My Prayers,
He Played Like A Dud.

Came Back Again,
Our Fans Good Enough After all,
Yet Still Not One Good Game.
To Fulfil A Boyhood Dream, He's Off To Kick A Soccer Ball.

Okay, it's not Lord Byron, but still, this prick used to be a terrace fave and a born leader and then he acted like the move to Liverpool was Barcelona, then he pretty much got his new manager sacked and then had the audacity to return and seek a loan move because his poor form kept him out of a side that improved without him.

You burned your bridges my friend.
Good riddance.

Poem was good, but this is beautiful!

Got on my nerves the way he spoke upon Joining Liverpool, even their fans who I worked with was saying it's a step up. So when Spurs finished higher than them (again) it was 'Booyah!'

Good game tonight. Cue 'Hearts Broken' back pages tommorow.

Bale really needs a pay raise. To agree to pay Adeyboyor 4Ok a week more than Bale is a slap in the face to everyone.
