Looks like The Sun will have someone else to blame, apart from the BBC (in their opinion not mine), for us not getting the World Cup.

Yet another reason not to like Birmingham.

I think the whole procedure is immoral.

How much has it cost for our "bid" and where has all the money gone?

All completely down the drain and wasted if we don't get it. All those delegates basically get paid to swan around the world. F**king disgrace!

I'll bet a lot of it went on hiring David Beckham, but that was money well-spent, because he's so articulate, isn't he.

Footballski's not coming home.

No surprise there then.

TalkSPORT advising fans to boo Andrei Arshavin this weekend.

TalkSPORT advising fans to boo Andrei Arshavin this weekend.

That tells you everything you need to know about TalkSPORT.

Big question given the outcome - was it ever worth bidding if FIFA are only interested in developing "new markets" at the moment? Did the FA use any intelligence before embarking on the process?

P.S. I love the way JohnnyD is hanging onto 999 posts forever.

Fifa didn't really indicate this before the bidding process started.

Not that it benefits the Fifa delegates to have the richer countries wine, dine and schmooze them or anything...

That's as maybe, officially, but Blatter's preference is not exactly unknown. All I'm asking is whether the England camp were ever in a competition they could win.

I think the counter is stuck.

So it is. It seems to be working for Nat Wicks - maybe that's how she's catching up so quick.

EDIT: 998 Laughing out loud

According to talkSPORT: England received FOUR votes out of 22. And one of those was our own.

*snigger*

Talksport now reporting England received just TWO votes. Laughing out loud

No, they were not.

What they should do now is come back and decide that if we can never host it (Which seems to be the case)put in place the systems that will allow us to win the thing every single time.

Unimpressed

I don't usually come in here, or have any opinions about football, but everyones' facebook statuses were pissing me off. For those of you who don't have me on Facebook, here is what I said:

Wish everyone would stop getting upset about the FIFA decision. It's very simple logic. FIFA would not benefit from hosting the competition here- we are a footballing nation. By hosting it in Russia/Quatar, they are potetionally getting many tens of thousands of new fans who could potentially regularly pay money into the sport, and a handful of new international stadiums to use.

And the bribes were good!
