Disgusting behaviour by Barton again. Yob.

What happened?

He looks to have punched Pedersen in the chest.

Just turned it on to watch Arsenal onwards. And did Wenger say "I did not see Fabregas's foul."

So Barton is still the same. Twat!

Just seen the Barton incident, nowt more than a friendly tap on the chest.

Complete overreaction by the Blackburn man.

Barton put some weight behind that dig, I reckon it would have hurt. Regardless of that, it's just a straight red and further proof that Barton has no control over his anger. The man is a scumbag and clearly will never change.

Respectfully disagree. It's a contact sport - and a punch to the chest is acceptable.

Barton-type bravery is exactly what's needed in the England team.

I am all for an aggressive, hard fought contact game. But hitting somebody off the ball is a different matter. Was it a terrible assault? No. But Barton being who he is, should be striving to keep his nose clean, and this incident just shows that he is incapable of doing it.

It was a stupid thing to do and had it been seen by the ref would have seen him walk... The situation being, Barton once again not being able to show any form of self control letting down a team that were working their bollocks off.

I think it is also worth noting that he did it because he deemed himself to be disrespected in a situation. Him. Not the team, this was not motivated by the interests of the common good of the collective, it was about ego. The same thing that motivated him stick a cigar in a team-mates eye on a night out. the same thing that motivated him to attack a 15 year-old Everton fan in Thailand, to assault Dabo on the training ground, to knock the shit out of some lad in Liverpool city centre.

I'm not an England fan, but I would say that if I was the manager of any team, I wouldn't let Barton anywhere near it.

Good points, Trabs. And yes, his off-field antics are indefensible.

Problem is: at present, the England team has too many 'low-level' tough guys - Lampard, Gerrard, Terry, etc.

We need a Jason Statham-type enforcer in midfield. And don't forget, we're playing France next. I'd love to see Barton open a can of whoop ass on those f**king frogs.

I'd rather see Nolan - when she's not in the mood for dancing.

Watching the Aston Villa game with my neighbor.

Do they sell beer at the matches? I never see fans drinking anything.

They do Dabutt, you can get a beer pre-game and at HT; but you're not allowed to take the drink into the stand.

Villa 2-0 up. :)

MMmm vanilla.

:D

2-1 now.

2-2 :/ Typical.

Yeah, things fell apart rather quickly at the end. :(
