Laughing out loud You could be right but with our backers we could just buy fans if we wanted to.

Well Fulham have about 600 fans, all with recent Premier League experience, so you don't have to look far.

My mug at work has a Chelsea shirt, a packet of Persil and a QPR shirt on it with the strapline 'It really does get the shit out of your shirt'

Laughing out loud

I do hope QPR go up, just for the guaranteed six points a season your promotion will bring us! (Going by our more recent encounters, these will be served up in 1-0 thrashings).

Looks a very nasty injury to Luis Antonio Valencia. I think United will miss him a lot as he's a very consistent performer.

I was sad to hear he's out for the season. He's consistent and was getting better and better last season. Thankfully Nani has come of age recently, so should be covered to some degree. 0-0 though - eek!

I'm truly sorry for the bloke from a purely personal point of view - but another injury for Manchester United..............

I've had a crack at the Rooney affair :)

Good write up but I don't think you can call Coleen a "tubster". She's stunning and not at all tubby.

I know, she's top drawer. The tubby thing is just a running joke, along with Ashley Cole being gay and Stevie Gerrard's wife being a nymph :)

Ah okay then, all is forgiven!

We have the squad though for cover- whereas Chelsea don't Dave, outstanding starting XI, some limited but good cover then nothing from there on end. Hopefully United will pip them to the title if you get some injuries.

You clearly don't though. You failed to break down Rangers, you lost a 3-1 lead against Everton with two minutes to go, and Fulham pegged you back twice to draw 2-2. Three years ago, you would have won those games at a canter.

As for us, our squad is slightly smaller than last year, but I don't think we'll end up hugely missing anyone who departed in the summer.

We have a much better squad than Chelsea Splodge, not a better starting XI, but a better squad, look at the midfields:
Chelsea: Essien, Lampard, Ramires, Mikel, Benayoun, Malouda
United: Anderson, Giggs, Park, Carrick, Nani, Scholes, Fletcher, Valencia, Gibson.

Good result for Liverpool in the end.
Joe Cole got his first goal.
It'll be interesting on Sunday as neither team are playing great.
If it's not a nil nil then I fancy a Jammy United win.

I don't think that proves your argument at all.

Scholes is past it, Fletcher's second rate and Nani, Carrick and Park are not even that. And Valencia is injured.

Actually - thinking about this I reckon Ferguson is finally going senile. If he thinks such a squad is capable of winning anything I think he should be put out of his misery.

But let's leave him where he is. It's more fun like that.

:)

Ah, but in virtually every game this season, you've played a 4-4-1-1 or a 4-4-2. So above, you've more or less listed the eight players you'd use to fill four positions.

Except one of those listed is Valencia, who is probably out at least until the spring, and Giggs and Scholes are over 35 and need constant rotation because they can't handle 3 games in 8 days. Your right side is now considerably weaker.

We on the other hand, play 4-3-3, so the six players you listed fill three midfield positions. And then more advanced, the wide positions (if it's not Malouda playing there) are usually occupied Kalou, Anelka, Sturridge or even someone like Zhirkov, who's really a winger who can also play left back (rather than the other way round) - but who can't even get a game at the moment. Kakuta may also get a few more games. It'll do.

Scholes- How can you say that? Have you seen what he's been doing this season
Fletcher- Great underated player, very consistent. Not world class, but very good
Nani- An emerging talent. Seems to be getting better.
Carrick- Agreed. He's a load of rubbish
Park- Great for the big occassion. Not great technically, grafter and will always run himself to the ground.
