And you're in the same friggin' state?

Your country is far too big, I'm sorry, but there it is, I've said it.

You've de-camped and arrived then.

350 miles is a bloody long way. Imagine the bus fare. Ouch. Eh?

Don't make Andrea think this country is small or something. We've got at least 350 miles in this country. Probably more.

Driving diagonally, north to south. Yeah, it's not a big state, just laid out weird. :P

Around 500 miles I believe. :)

Bloody builders - at least a weird layout is an interesting layout. Pleased

Yeah, not big, sounds very much the same size as, er, Surrey... *gulps* Whistling nnocently

Including roundabouts, definitely.

I think it's is the Isle of Wright to the most northernest island in Scotland or something. Sounds about right to me. It's 250 miles from Blackpool to the Southern end of London so... yeah 500 miles-ish. :S

I like the idea of being able to drive and really get somewhere. I'd love to try mass transit. We have no trains or buses where I live. And our cab drivers? It's an old lady named Peggy who smokes in the car and smells like Tabu.

Ah, nice. Eh? Old lady = 2mph - am I right?

Do you live in a Norman Rockwell painting, dear? :)

No, Peg's a leadfoot and has no problem with gesturing out the window. it's not even a proper cab-type car. It's a rusted out Chevy Impala.

:D
no, I'm on the cusp of hillbilly hell. Drive an hour one way and you've got houses where you seriously question the possiblity of indoor plumbing. Drive the other way and you've got multi-million $ houses. It's like a very mundane pergatory.

Texas is 900 miles across. Wake up in Texas, drive 12 hours and go to bed in Texas. Alaskans think Texas is positively puny.

Alaskans? Oh, yeah. They live in the freezer don't they?

I think AndreaLynne should visit NYC. It's one of my favourite places.

I flew into JFK once, rented a car and let the GPS direct me to my destination in Philadelphia. The "shortest route option" took us through some rather interesting parts of the cities. Huh?

"shortest route option"

I took one of them through London back in April. My God, never again. :|

Not this time of year. It's 80F/27C right now all the way up in Fairbanks.
