Treason Show at Komedia - RIP

Not sure who has had and who hasn't got the email, but the Treason Show have pulled out of Komedia.

They are looking at other venues, but they've suggested it could be the end of the Treason Show.

I'm sure it won't be - they're a regular crowd-puller and some theatre will be lucky to have them.

I didn't get the email, but I heard via Mark's facebook page.

Last I heard, he was looking at 3 possible venues.

Brighton had a lot of theatres.

Ah... haven't had any contact from them since the Berlin edit sheets (I think I got my first ever sketch in). Saw the news via Mark's Twitter.
:(

He let me know with his telepathic chimpanzee service.

I hope one of the only two ongoing oppos for new writers to sell materials isn't doomed.

Maybe we should all offer to write for free?

Ah - I'm no longer signed up with telepathic chimps. I didn't like their method of attracting my attention.

Writing for free, hmmm... hang on - I have been writing for free (anyone know when you're actually supposed to be paid for the May show? If that's not a selfish question in their hour of need...)

In the email he explained that there was a delay in payment owing to all this jiggery-buggery stuff - they're a preofessional outfit and you should be paid fairly soon I reckon

Cheers, Rick.

The worst I ever had was being paid 2 weeks late they and NR are most professional about this. Personally I'd be happy not to get paid for a month or 2 if this service kept going.

Oh for sure - me too - just not sure the writing fees are a big enough slice of the expenses to make a difference. Did the email imply it was purely a financial thing? Maybe they think it's a natural time for a break.... Errr

Well they cut them a while back it's about a grand or 2 a month so for a show it's size it's probably significant.

Ah - oh dear - maths was never my strong point... At least, as MJ says, Brighton has loads of venues... here's hoping they find something suitable.

There's a few reasons, mostly stemming from Komedia taking the pith a little.

They're a clever bunch - they'll sort something

Absolutely Griff

And cracking tip on Playwright's Guidebook - up there with best writing books I've read

Heard via Twitter that Mark could be close to securing a new venue. Anyone else heard anything? I think I'm out of the email loop at the mo.

As has been said, I think a bit of a shake up could prove quite exciting...

Heard no more than what you've heard.

Hope he gets sorted soon. :)
