Mock The Week - Series 7 Page 19

Oh a pilot. Thought it was a series already.

As long as its not piss poor, im sure itll get a series. will the pilot be broadcast?

earman,

sorry, but you have to change your avatar, I thought you were Splodge!

Maybe you could have a Jemaine pic instead?

I think it was the right time for Frankie to move on. He's been great for the show, definetly the main attraction, however his appearances in the last series were getting a bit tiresome, but nontheless, well done Frankie for keeping me very entertained for the other six series.

In my opinion Boyle leaving will breath new life into the show. He's dominated it for so long. Just lately I've tired of him, he hasn't been as funny and he should have done his own show a year or two ago when he was at his peak.

How much of what the 'panel' say is likely to be scripted, and of that, how much might be written by other people? I've seen seven writers credited.

So MTW has had its knuckles rapped over the Rebecca Adlington material...

Personally it seems like a nasty, pointless and in no way "satirical" piece of cheap stand-up crap. I'm rather glad that this sort of stuff is being censured. I don't think a woman just doing her best at swimming is worthy of personal attack in the same way that, say, a politician is.

Then again, much of MTW has always been nasty, witless, playground bully humour anyway. So I suppose fans will just shrug and say "well it's only a joke".

Interestingly, they said that the joke about the Queen's pussy being haunted was acceptable.

Not entirely true. It could definitely apply to Frankie in some cases but I don't think Dara or Hugh have ever said anything nasty about anyone. Their comedy is certainly more tame, perhaps this is why they're less popular with the 'yoof who watch the show.

Fair enough, Dara (whatever Seefacts says) and Hugh both seem generally lovely. :)

That's because it's a well-known fact. You'll find all manner of ghoulies up there.

Well, I just saw my first ever 10 minutes of this and I'm quite confident that when the day comes that I meet my Maker and He says 'How much Mock the Week did you watch?' I will be able to say 'Ten minutes.'

Yes I remember being deeply unimpressed at the time.
