Oh CN. When you can no longer believe that anyone can say something funny off-the-cuff, what remnants of a soul remain within? Some people on this site - and I suspect in the larger community - have their joy sucked out of them by writing comedy. Always deconstructing, never able to just enjoy.

I not one of those people at all, you've just completely judged me based on one comment.

Probably my fault for not explaining myself. I made the observation because when I watched the show I noticed that she never said anything funny, or tried it, when they were all ad-libbing, but when a new round started and they were asked questions that would have been in their brief she suddenly had these cracking one-liners. It was a bit obvious to me and I know how these shows work with the briefs etc. I've also heard Jamelia interviewed before and she didn't make a single joke, or come across as funny.

Maybe accuse me of being cynical (with reason) but I don't have this writers complex you mention. I was probably funnier around my friends before I had an interest in writing and I know so many people who have no interest in the industry who are funnier than a lot of stand-ups.

I don't think I've ever inspired anyone before but trust it to be in a negative way.

BTW, I know these types of people. They also sit around the table trying not to laugh at each others jokes too. On the flip side you get people who think all stand-ups are talking off the top of the head, or that actors are all improvising. People, eh?
