MP3/MP4 Player help/advice?

Keep looking at this, wondering whether to buy it or not - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kubik-Edge-8GB-Screen-YouTube/dp/B001H39LZO/ref=pd_cp_ce_1

Anyone else had this model or anything like it?

It's everything I'm looking for in a MP3/Multimedia player. But it does sound too good to be true. Don't get me wrong. I can see the £50 (£48.99) price mark and I know I'll get what I'm paying for.

I don't want to buy an iPod or any other member of the I family. Sony's Walkman and the Zen and all the others aren't very appealing either. I guess the camera/video camera and other features are tempting me into it (features that other players don't have).

I'm hoping the quality is just (or waay) above being a cheap plastic alternative and just below the brand names. I'd be happy with that medium. Most of my other electrical equipment falls into this range and wipes the floor with big name brands products, especially with the amount of features and compatibility they have.

The Amazon reviewers never help, as they are always 50/50 in the positive/negative feedback.

Cheers!

:)

When it comes to just playing music I find the quality of the headphones is more important than actual player.

Good point. But I already have an excellent pair of headphones I can use, if these ones are poop.

I have tiny ear holes and have a job finding earphones. The best I've found are Sony ones that clip around the ear, but you lose some of the sound.

As important as your ears are when it comes to the right earphones. Your eyes would do a much better job of actually finding them. ;)

It's alwasy worth sticking the name of something followed by 'review' into Google.

The other option is to just get a new mobile phone which does all that.

Tried that many times; nothing new comes up.

Considered that. But I'd like to keep them both separate. The logical thing to do, when remember the use of battery power; plus other factors, I can't remember at the minute.

It's reasonably cheap, so buy it. At best, you've got yourself a swishy little media gadget. At worst, you've got something which you can return for a refund.

True dat.

Which reminds me. My girlfriend ordered a product off Amazon Market Place. She left slightly negative feedback, because the product was slightly faulty, but nothing worth sending for a new one.

They replied asking her to remove the negative feedback in return for something from their shop. Cheeky bastards! She of course did it, but still. Cheeky.

I would name and shame them. But I can't remember who it was. Cash Converters or someone?

Cash Con-ver-ters.

Probably.

I've never been there.

No, it's not the type of shop you'd go in if your not a smack head.

Right then. You know I'm an ignorant old git. Well then. I've just got a Samsung smart phone - not very appropriate I know.

It has an MP3 facility.

So - the question is - are:-

1. what do I do?
2. How do I download stuff?
3. How much does it cost?
4. Can I just copy my CDs?

I'd keep an eye on your battery. Turn off all wireless features when usng mp3. Otherwise you'll be charging it a lot.

As for ripping cds. Windows media player should be easy enough.

The built in YouTube player must come in really handy if you can't spell YouTube.com

1. what do I do?

Drag and drop most likely. Drag music files from one folder on your computer to the music folder on your phone. This is after plugging it in via a USB cable.

2. How do I download stuff?

Legally or Illegally?

You can buy albums from almost anywhere these days. From iTunes to Amazon.

3. How much does it cost?

Depends what you buy. You can buy tracks from about 70p

4. Can I just copy my CDs?

Yes. I'm not on Windows, so I can't help you much. But there are programs out there which detect your CD and you press "Rip CD/Copy CD". It will copy the disc into a folder on your PC. (see Question 1).
