Brown sauce on egg is just blasphemy. Red sauce on bacon is permissable but only drizzled, never dolloped. Now bacon and egg (runny yolk) is a divine coupling straight from God's cookbook. Especially if the bread is lightly-toasted.
Whoops, hungry now.
Plain for me.

Just eat it on food when I choose to (which is seldom).
The law is that you only have tomato sauce on a bacon sandwich if it is served with a fried egg as well.
Also the law states that a plain bacon sandwich should be made with fresh, white bread, no butter and brown sauce.
I'm a LT where bacon's concerned. And flit between brown sauce and ketchup on sausage sandwich like a saucy floozy. If they're really good quality sausges I do like apple sauce.

Will this do?

I've never heard of anybody even suggest making a bacon sandwich with butter? Although I suspect Jack Delaney's such a rebel he makes bacon sandwiches with butter.

The law is an ass sir!
Fried egg in a sandwich is wrong. It's too runny.
Sliced tomatoes are best in a bacon sarnie - or even sundried tomatoes, grilled artichokes and a little bit of garlic friend in the artichoke oil.
No butter?

Urrgh.
What about tabasaco?

Ah but that's why I lightly-toast the bread first, so it doesn't go mushy.

You'd be surprised Chip. A lot of people butter their bread before putting the bacon in. And Jack gets his bacon sandwiches from 'Roy boy' of Babs Kebabs burger van fame.
