Carry on Blitzkrieg - Part 1

Well, this is a big change from our normal output. It was essentially an exercise in producing longer form comedy, that's been lying around for a year while I fix my DVD mastering abilities.

It's a faux documentary charting the rise of Hitler and the Nazis. Plus it meant writing some songs in 30s Formby style. Hope you like.

Largely entertaining, Slaggs. Watched parts 1 & 2.

Making fun of Hitler is good. Your crazy scenarios and witty narration fitted the original footage. The captions were timely and amusing. Your own scenes were ham enough to fit in well.

Bit unsure about the final scene....smoking a carrot? What's that all about?

Cheers for taking the time, it was a big ask of us and it's really appreciated. I was there at the time it was filmed and I still don't know. I think it was something to do with the guy's anti-vegan stance. I did whinge about it at the time but was outvoted.
:)

Mr. A!

I'm impressed - I've just seen a juggling dog. But it wasn't as good as your video. I've only watched Part. 1 so far, and I thought it was very good. The editing and inserts were excellent. Lots of good gags too.

I did feel SlagB's narration, whilst passable, sounded like he was busting for the toilet. That's also intended as a compliment, as well as a criticism (because he appears to have so much energy).

It's interesting because the sketch I sent you (have you read it yet? ;)) I was constantly aware of its length. I didn't think people had the concentration to watch a 10 minute clip on YouTube. But I think you've removed that doubt. We'll see.

I'll watch the second half later.

I watched Part 1. It was funnier in certain places than others but it was long so that's to be expected.

The good thing about it though that you have plenty of variety in it with captions, songs, (and my own personal favourite) your own footage.

Also, some good gags in it too.

That's my fault. I told him to aim for those old newsreel VOs. You know the kind, clipped and verbally intense but yet tonally 'flat' - by flat I'm trying to convey the lack of emotion that they tended to put in.

The captions I added later during edit to try and squeeze some more out of the slower parts.

Thanks to everyone who's watched. I'm more than painfully aware that people donating ten minutes of their life to us is a compliment that I hope we've repaid. Cheers.
:)

I liked the 'Your Advert Here' bit. Not too keen on the modern 'outer glow' effect on the titles though. But my opinion remains worthless.

Cheers Kenneth, the film was edited in Adobe Premiere and the master file was re-edited a year later in Sony Vegas. I was kinda stuck with an awful choice in credit fonts.

A bit too much Welsh-ness coming through to carry it off completely.

Needs to be an octave higher and done by Harry Enfield.

Nah, it's charmingly comical as it is.
