Not a wind up

My last post was not a wind up. I sent several film clips and info on a sit com idea to a major TV company .They asked me to send in the script.I write for my stand up act and I have never seen a sit com script that is in the correct format.
I was simply asking to have a look at one.

Hi Peter.

Did they ask you to send a script on the basis of your submitted visual material - i.e. they expressed an interest in seeing a formal script developing those ideas? Or was it more of a "Yeah, thanks, but really you should just send us script, not video"?

Was there any liason with you other than a letter response?

As I think has been mentioned (after your previous post), the BBC sitcom format is pretty much always accepted. I only write in other formats on commissioned drafts, where the company prefers a screenplay format. Examples of BBC sitcom format scripts can be downloaded from the bbc writersroom website.

For other formatting questions, there's a thread currently active down the page here, or look through the pinned threads at the top discussing FAQs for newbies.

All the best.

Oh. He's gone. *slowly walks sideways out-of-shot, twindling thumbs, embarrassed*

(O/S) Close thread, close!

Hi Tim thanks for your help, they realy liked my film clips and said
If you have a sitcom script for either radio or television we'd be delighted to read it. I'm very much looking forward to it

Peter, yes I understood your post was a genuine question but I closed the thread because there are several threads here asking the same question. Search the Writers' Discussion section (look at the menu bar below the banner - left) for 'format'. Post any other queries in one of those pre-existing (and relevant) threads.
