To drive barefoot? Checking on Google seems to be a mixed bag of answers (mainly 2 actually)
Is it illegal....?
I think it's legal in most U.S. states. Perhaps not motorcycles ...
I think its illegal in the UK, not 100% though.

Like "Yes" and "No" you mean?
Short answer. No.
Long answer. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
It's frowned upon, but legal. Dunno why I know that, I just do.
...Not if you're Fred Flintstone.
Unlikely. Probably better to do so as you get closer feeling and touch - therefore control - over the pedals.

Spot on!
Why do you need to know?
Have you lost your shoes?
It should be with my feet. They smell like pickled onion Monster Munch on a hot day.
A passenger said she didn't realise she was getting a lift with a law breaker (I wasn't wearing shoes as my flip flops can get caught in the pedals!) I didn't realise it was against the law?
So I chopped her up at the next junction.
Chopped her up? Pyscho.
No hitch-hiker
