British Comedy Guide

How do you deal with despondency?

I take a casual walk round a hospital to remind myself how lucky I am.

What do you do?

That's awful!

I write sketches that cheer me up.

Medication. :D

Abuse strangers on comedy forums. :)

Talk about it on comedy forums. :(

If I'm despondant I speak to the great public of Yahoo Answers. Some are complete and utter nobs, but you get the occassional good answer.

If I had some terminal illness, or had lost both legs in an accident, I'm not sure how I'd feel about some bloke gawping at me just to cheer himself up... Also, are you just allowed to wander around hospitals nowadays? I would hope securities tight enough to stop lollygaggers.

(I get what you mean, though)

Watch a sitcom.

I make lots of lists. :)
I only get despondent because things are in a mess/getting on top of me.
If I organise everything, I can plan a way to make it better.

Very, very pathetically, bake something or write a poem.

I used to bake actually (or cook) - But I discovered I had bollocks and do what most men do and drink myself stupid.

I like to have long chats with Michael Jackson Teary

Self-recrimination, until something good comes on telly.

I watch Bargin Hunt. Seeing a pair of inbred mutants nearly exploding in orgasmic joy because they made a whopping profit of £21 is beyond belief.

Watching any daytime telly turns gloomy despondency into white hot anger and murderous rage, thus solving the problem through emotional displacement.
