Michael Jackson RIP Page 5

I imagine that they won't be taking place now.

The Jackson 4?

I can't think of anyone more famous than Michael. I think he wins at that.

My question is about what will happen to his "children." It would appear that he basically bought them and I'd be surprised if they shared any of his DNA, so I wonder if the woman who bore them maintained any any claim to them in the event of his death.

Smarmy
Thanks, I figured that part out.

So much for that whole "the show must go on" cliche! Did Fred Astaire cancel a show just because he'd died? Pah! Modern-day so-called celebrity.

Chat show side-kick? He must have been getting on a fair bit, not in the same league as one of Charlie's angels and the 'King Of Pop'...

Number 3 will be someone hugely talented, an actor, musician, black...

Richard Blackwood? Noooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He's been in the news a ton in the last few years. He fell and broke his neck, lost his home to foreclosure (one of the first over here to have that happen during the housing crisis) and of course he did the crappity Cash 4 Gold commercials that run over here constantly. And lets not forget Publisher's Clearinghouse and their big stupid checks. He's more of a pop culture type than anything.

The only American chat show sidekick of any note over here is the legendary Hank Kingsley. And quite rightly too.

Laughing out loud

Actually, on the rolling news when it was being reported with 99.99% certainty that he was dead, one of the reporters pondered on this point and said something like "the future of those concerts is now uncertain". I wish I'd taped it.

I'm waiting for them to turn it into a tribute concert thing instead. That usually happens at some point.

As far as Ed McMahon, he's the most popular one over here.

Who? Richard Blackwood?

We've never had a tradition of sidekicks on British TV chat shows really. It does seem odd that Americans are so affectionate for someone who basically sits on a couch in a TV studio contributing little to the proceedings. Is there any reason for that particularly? Seems like a pretty cushy job.

BREAKING NEWS...BREAKING NEWS...BREAKING NEWS...BREAKING NEWS...

Richard Blackwood is not dead. Repeat NOT dead. (Unconfirmed report.)

So who will be Controller of Channel 4 now?

And General Sir Mike Jackson was on This Week tonight when the story was breaking.

Spooky.

Damn you, Uri Gellar! :S Angry

And it's almost exactly one year and about ten months give or take a few days since the beer writer Michael Jackson died. Spooky as hell.

And Micheal Jacob has the same initials! Aaaaaggggghhhh!

GORDON BROWN TRIBUTE JUST IN....

"Truly, he was the People's Pedarist."
