Hunting Ban

After New New Labour outlaw all forms of hunting, the Countryside Alliance turn to more unusual quarry.

This is a trial run at a more 'mockumentary feel' piece. There was a cockup in the audio that obscured the "New New Labour" line, so I had to repair it in SoundForge... unsatisfactorily. Apols.

I liked the surreal ending, nice work.

I liked this neat and a clever idea but a couple of quick thoughts.

1 The joke it's as illegal as... is good but it breaks the rhythmn of this being a serious documentary.

2 Paper chase=hunting paper great gag. But funny as the tree hunting is a quick gag to tie it into the rest of the sketch would be good.

For what it's worth: I think this is the best thing you've ever done.

Cheers, Nigel.

Soots, can you explain what you mean by 2? Re: 1 It was kind of his justification for hunting and also a minor social comment on how some crimes are often not even seen as real 'crimes' these days. Although it was taken a step further for comedy effect.

Don, your opinion (for what it's worth) is worth more than you assume. :) Cheers, Sir.

Sometime's it's amazing the perception difference between what I think is best and what other people think. This was an attempt at pulling everything right back for a style (although I tried to get Biological Death Clock and Awkward Question underplayed by the actors as well). It came to a point in editing where I was thinking we'd thrown out 'funny' at the expense of style.

Just that if you give a reason for the first one e.g. it's a paper chase, then it kinda sticks out to me that there isn't one.

I dunnon tree spotting? Bark rubbing?

Ah, gotcha. From what I'm told their paper chases are not like the ones we used to have. They drag newspaper soaked in fox urine across the fields. We just cut to the moment they caught up with the newspaper bundle and were treating it like they would a real fox.
:)
Maybe I should've had someone dragging it and preferably them beating the dragger.

No no that's great really it is. What I thought the joke was using hunting alternates to beat up inaminate objects.
