She was on the way to the doctors, she tripped smashed her face on some scaffolding and then broke her arm on the way down.
It looks very sore her face is literally black down one side.
I need to take her to the hospital & stay with her tomorrow but that's for a heart exam.

Your poor mum. Hope she's OK Steve. That kind of thing is really scary.
Sorry to hear that, Steve. Hope she's well soon.
I know, They thought she'd had a heart attack after, but it was her irregular heartbeat causing chest pains.
She's the strongest 80 year old I've ever known though, she'll be fine
But broken arms are a pain whatever the age, and this one is the femur so it can't be plastered, it's just in a sling
Oooo, that sounds nasty. Hope it looks worse than it is.
She's not going to be skateboarding for a couple of weeks then?
With any luck it's not her drinking arm . . .
All the best Mommy Sunshine x x
Cheers all, It isn't the drinking arm thankfully, small mercies.
If she is anything like my octogenarian mum, then the problem of it not being in plaster will be stopping her from using it. Earlier this year she had a nasty fall, dislocating her wrist and fracturing it in two places. Having moved back home for a couple of weeks to look after her, I was quite impressed to find her, despite having her arm pinned together with metal rods and immobilised in plaster, ironing one of my shirts. She must have been in pain though, because there were definite tramlines on the sleeves.
Poor soul. I didn't mean to be flippant.

Did you make her do it again?

Haha don't worry.
It wasn't that clear that the post was only half jokey.
cheers Keewik
I knew I'd get it wrong and I couldn't be bothered to Google
Fibula probably
Get well soon, Ma Sunshine!
...oh, and slap your son for me, please. ( )
Like.
Reminds me of Kevin Murphy's story about his Nan, which still makes me laugh occasionally when I think about it.
Quote: Kevin Murphy @ April 21 2011, 5:50 PM BSTYou've got to watch how you use it.
My mum still genuinely thinks it means "lots of love", which is why I get text messages like "At hospital. Nan's taken a turn for the worse. Doctor worried. LOL."
