Hangin' With Mr. Cooper.

I'm Alan Partridge

Oh yeah. Series 1 in particular is on a par with anything, ever Cool

Arrested Development

Almost made my 5. Great show.

Spaced

Good show, some very good moments but I think it's overrated. Prefer Black Books by quite some distance.

Fawlty Towers

12 episodes. More or less all genius. The Aniversary was the only (slight) mistep.

Black Adder 2 - 4

My choice for #1. It baffles me the lack of love for series 1, though. It's very good, not on the level of the others of course, but underrated. It's just very dark at times is all.

Father Ted

Would come close to making mine. Brilliant show.

The Office

See Father Ted.

P.S. Very fine choices overall, Spaced is something I should really love (the concept, the ideas, reference etc) but it's just never clicked totally with me. I respect it far more than really liking it. I found series 2 of it a drop in quality. Maybe I should watch 'em more often.

Ha. I actually did love that.

Nah, Spaced is one of my top five sitcoms.

As is series 2.

My answer would be, at this moment in time without thinking about it too much:

Seinfeld
I'm Alan Partridge
Spaced
Red Dwarf
Arrested Development

Really like Dwarf and like Spaced, but can't put them with that company (especailly not the latter).

Series 2 of IAP is a notch down from the hotel series (and KMKY), but is still very, very good. It lacked a little of inspiration and was straining for the gags a bit (compared to the first), although it was still very funny.

Despite being inferior, series two still had some truely gold moments, especially quality quotes.

I've never believed that, and can't understand why others do; as far as I can see, series two of IAP is every bit as good as the first. I honestly don't see the dip in quality, it baffles me.

It's relative as the 1st series was so great, but I just think the odd episode of the 2nd gets a little tiresome towards the end of the half hour. I thought Alan's girlfriend was a comparatively weak character. The series had a sprinkle of magic moments ("Dan", "Shitty zombies" "stop getting Bond wrong" - et al), but I can't understand those who say it's the equal of the 1st.

This mate of mine once was said he preferred Black Grape's very mediocre second album to their excellent debut - I was totally baffled. For me this is in ways an reasonable comparison (except the difference in quality is markedly less for Partridge).

Hm, well I disagree with all that, but there we go; for me both series stand shoulder to shoulder. :)

I suppose we're even, what with you disagreeing with Polly an' all. ;)

Like he said, overrated. ;)

California Dreams.

Agree with both of those comments, Jackson. And about Spaced. Like Simon Pegg but in all his stuff there just seems to be something missing for me.

Presumably most people would have Butterflies on their list, the Beeb are bringing that back apparently.

But will it happen?
