SCENE 1.HOSPITAL
A MAN IS SITTING AT HIS PREGNANT WIFES BEDSIDE.
WIFE
So what are you doing then?
HUSBAND
I don't think I can come in. Oh I don't know.
WIFE
Okay, well, I don't mind what you do, so long as I know before the baby comes.
HUSBAND
Okay, okay. No. I'll just wait outside. When the wee one is here, I'll come in and see you.
WIFE
Now, are you sure?
HUSBAND
No. Oh god, I just. I want to be there but you know what I'm like with blood as it is.
WIFE
Right, that's it. You're not coming in.
HUSBAND
Right, okay. That's that sorted.
WIFE
Sorted.
SCENE 2.HOSPITAL
THE WIFE IS GIVING BIRTH.
NURSE
Push, push. Keep pushing.
DOCTOR
Not long now.
NURSE
There's a head.
THE HUSBAND COMES FLAPPING THROUGH THE DOORS. HE TAKES ONE LOOK AT THE WOMAN AND COLLAPSES ON THE FLOOR. ALL OF THE DOCTORS & NURSES RUN TO HIS AID. THE WIFE IS LYING BY HERSELF.
10 MINUTES LATER
THERE IS A SOUND OF A CRYING BABY.
CUT TO: THE HUSBAND SITTING UP IN BED HOLDING THE BABY. THE WIFE IS SITTING BY HIS BEDSIDE.
