Interesting. Our TV hasn't worked properly for a few days, poor or no signal
and internet is intermittent.
I have been laughed at for suggesting the weather might have something to do with it, as I am not very in to technolmalogicallery stuff, but could I actually be right?

Haven't got Sky, but if it affects that then must affect other, um, stuff and things, technically speaking. I know what I mean.

When Sky "Digital" first came out, any sign of a cloud and it would freeze up. Not sure what it's like now, haven't used it for a few years but I've heard people complaining about snow on the dish. You just need to keep the LNB (the bit that sticks out) clear.

The problem with "Digital" is that any interruption in the signal the image can't be encoded properly, it's biggest downfall! With the old terrestrial signal, as fussy picture was still watch-able. I know when I was a kid, I'd watch the most scrambled piece of shit screen ever, it would be in black and white and crackle over the most important parts of the sound but I'd be persistent! With digital, it's either on or off, no real in between

Yes. Kind of like video vs DVD, etc. If a DVD is broken it just won't work. Unlike video which could be half off the screen and fuzzy. And even poked at with a biro if you wanted to try and fix it.

I remember when we got BBC2, the man from the hire shop came out to set it up for us. We 6 children were under strict instructions from my Mother to sit quietly and not disturb him. He wore a brown coat like the white coats Doctors wear. I thought he was personally responsible for BBC2. I was in awe of him and a little bit scared.

Or when you went to the theatre and actor was ill they could get somebody else on, or even a performing jack russell
