The mentions of Only Fools and Horses earlier in the thread convinced me to watch the final episode again and I actually don't think it was too bad a way to finish. Not as good as the 'Time on our Hands' ep certainly but the issue of Rodney's father's identity was dealt with well in spite of the continuity errors and I definitely think it was a big improvement on the previous 2 instalments. The references to them writing a film could all have been cut though.
Worst Sitcom Endings? Page 5
I didn't rate Only When I Laugh's ending. If memory serves. Norman, Figgis and Glover go for a reunion at a pub after they come out of hospital and then have an accident somehow (can't remember how) and are back in hospital by the end. Nice circularity I suppose about it. Similarly Home To Roost, when Henry thimks he has his house to himself when Matthew goes to university only for his younger son to turn up at his door. Too obvious.
I only watched Only When I Laugh a few days ago, and already can't remember what got them back in hospital!
How embarrassing! I too watched the final series of Only When I Laugh only a few months ago and can't recall exactly what happened. The trio decided to leave hospital (or were forcibly discharged for hypochondria) and while preparing to leave, they decided to have a reunion in a restaurant, where they sprung Dr Thorpe (Richard Wilson) attempting to seduce a woman, so Archie then tried to seduce the woman too, er, no, that might not be it at all... Will have to rewatch it. Don't recall it being disappointing.
The final episode of Frasier could have been better, but that had more to do with the low joke-count. All of Season 11 was quite bad, but not as bad as Season 9.

That is more or less what happened, yes. (They were discharged, not of their own accord.)
Men Behaving Badly - giving Gary a baby! I wonder if its still alive?
A good ending - I feel that, even though it probably isn't and wasn't supposed to be a ending, The Green Green Grass wedding episode felt like a tie-up. Dunno why. It just did.
I just watched the end of Men Behaving Badly and I can not believe how much older they all seemed for the last 3 episodes. I know there wasn't a major gap in time between the 6th series and these, but my God they seemed middle aged. Is it just me or was that the general opinion when these originally aired?
Sitcoms that don't end, ie. American rubbish.
