How is Godber able to be all right, then? I'd be interested to know that.

To summarise Fletcher and Godber break into a farmhouse looking for food and shelter and get caught by the farmer. When he finds out they are from the prison he then gets a newspaper cutting book from it's hiding place. It turns out he was a big time safe cracker around 25 years ago before going straight. After feeding them up he sends them on their way, they then find the football team coach again and hide on it. Everyone has seen the film and know the rest.

There is also additional material about Fletcher being made temporary barman of the Prison Officer's club and him, Godber, Bunny Warren and McLaren clubbing together to put money in the till. Fletcher then persuades Mr Barroclough, who is getting well drunk every evening in the club due to marriage problems that he has bought a small bottle of whisky for the road. Bunny Warren then picks the pocket of his coat and they enjoy a drink after lights out.

Thanks for the info. That's what was good about the film - it didn't use material from the series like other big screen spin-offs.
