In Memory of ER

Over the weekend, I watched the final episode of ER.

I welled up a little bit at the fact it was ending. Not necessarily because of any particular great storyline, but because it's been there for nearly half my life; this programme took me through my twenties and into my thirties and it's the first 'loss' I've really felt of a programme.

Over the course of the 15 years, I think they've introduced us to probably the best character I've ever seen in any TV show ever in Abi Lockhart.

A nice ending to a nice show, in which a lot of old cast members 'visited' to pay their respects

I just wanted to pay my respects to the programme that at times was the best, most compelling programme on the box.

Dan

It was a great show in its heyday. And that episode where Dr Greene kills a mother but saves the baby (or vice versa) is one of the finest hours of television you're likely to see.

Alas, like The Simpsons, they continued with it long after it should have been cancelled.

Wasn't there another show called E.R., about a hospital, back in the '80s? I think it might've starred Elliot Gould.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAY It's finally dead!

Haven't watched the last two series of E.R. I need to catchup, but I suppose now it's ended, there's no rush.

So, just like my attempt to find anyone who has heard of The New Monkees, in another thread, nobody remembers the original E/R?

Nope. But I remember that show set in Yorkshire, where they would play Pass the Parcel.

"E.R"

Laughing out loud
