Peep Show - Series 6 Page 39

This just goes to show, once again, that democracy just... doesn't... work! Angry

Was it just me or did there seem to be a Microsoft placement in this episode? First Johnson defends Vista which of course is a joke considering it's reputation but then he gives credit to the three amigos with I believe Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.

Wouldn't actually think they'd do something like that but still a little odd.

I thought the three amigos line was good and very Johnson. They mention a lot of products in the show, I don't their selling out or anything, brand names can just be funny, especially in the world and context of Peep.

Very funny again last night. Not quite as funny as last week's but up there with the best of them. Laughed a lot.

It's great but I fear this season will end with Johnson raping Mark.

Fear, or hope . . ? :D

Well it would be funny, especially David Mitchell's trenchant VO observations. And if Jez wrote a song about it with Super Hans afterwards.

I would agree with this. Also, even when people are saying how good an episode was, they feel this need to raise the two minor points they didn't like; and it will be these minor quibbles that take up two thirds of the post. It baffles me. Maybe we just like a moan? :D

Anyway, So far I think this has been a great series, I'd say it's a step up from series five, personally.

But surely that's what a comedy discussion forum is for? To discuss comedy shows that we like or dislike, and talk about the positives and negatives.

I find it pretty pointless just to say "That was a good episode" or "That was a shit episode" without explaining why. There is nothing wrong with just saying that, but most people who just sum TV shows up like that probably don't post on television discussion boards.

I enjoy discussing TV shows, especially comedies and especially comedies I like, but that doesn't mean I'm just going to post gushing praise every time. I thought last nights episode was a little off, I thought the plotting was bad (the Mexican restaurant stuff was really unnecessary) and I thought Johnson's character was written badly.

On the opposite end, I thought Episode 2 of this series was one of the best Peep Show episodes ever. The plot flowed well, the dialogue was on top form and the funnies came thick and fast.

:)

Audience figures:

Rude Tube: 1.70 million
Peep Show: 1.60 million

Who are the 100,000 people who, when Rude Tube ended, thought to themselves: my night can't get funnier - bed time for me!

Or more perhaps more astounding; who are the 1.70 million people who thought Rude Tube was worth watching?!

I'm not saying you shouldn't say what you thought, just a tendancy I see, that people have a need to point out the tiniest of percieved flaws. Maybe it's just the British way, we like a moan! :D

Have to say, I thought his character was brilliant last night. :D

Personally, I thought episode two was the weakest of the series. Still better than 95% of the rest of TV, mind!

Other than the slightly esoteric 'Pernicious, Egregious Wank-Stain Botherer', you've covered every one of my nicknames...

why was seeing Mark in a short sleeved shirt and red bow tie so funny?

It wasn't.

A mediocre episode. Alright story-wise, but nothing spectacular. Nothing particularly funny though.

I think he was trying to jump on the New Doctor Who bow tie bandwagon.

Apart from the points the others have made, I imagine the writers are Apple fanboys, so they'd delight in having a crazy character support Microsoft.

In summary: Yes, just you. ;)
