Yep.

Quote: Ian Wolf @ September 12 2009, 3:33 PM BSTThere was an attempt in 2005 by FOX to adapt the series under the title Odd Couple, but the pilot failed. Also, it did not use the point-of-view camera style.
Since then, Spike TV in 2007 announced that they were going to make an American version, with Bain and Armstrong writing the script. I don't know what became of it.
So far, only Series 1 of the original series is available as a Region 1 DVD.
Cheers, Ian. Yeah, I've heard all the stories about Peep Show US-adaptations and the various bad pilots that have been written. But seriously, why don't they just show the original with the best actors already in place? There's actually far fewer cultural references to confuse an American viewer in Peep Show than there were in the British version of The Office. Plus, with series 6 in the can, they've got a healthy 36 episodes available to broadcast.
Quote: Matthew Stott @ September 12 2009, 3:30 PM BSTI've heard people mention that the way it's shot puts people off, which just baffles me; it's not that weird looking really; is it?
It's only really noticeable in series 1, when the camera work was more claustrophobic. After a few episodes though I think you (almost) hardly notice the technique is being used.
Quote: Matthew Stott @ September 12 2009, 3:19 PM BSTI take series over episodes, it's been commissioned seven times to Desmonds or Drop The Dead Donkeys six. So it's the longest running, but not so far the greatest number of episodes.
What about years? DTDD spanned 9, and to date Peep Show has had 7. Also maybe worth noting that Desmond's only ended because the star died - a further two series were produced, following the second main character, entitled Porkpie. So in terms of faith in the show/format/characters/set up/etc, that spanned 8 years.
Basically, however one wishes to count it, at the time of publication that Radio Times review is just plain WRONG.
Then there is also the issue of the length of the episodes. Green Wing only had two series and a special, but the episodes were twice as long.
Quote: Tim Walker @ September 12 2009, 3:23 PM BSTSomehow I managed never to watch more than about 5 minutes total of the whole 71 episodes of Desmonds. I hear this show had a very loyal cache of fans, but I don't think I've ever met anyone who's admitted to watching it.
I haven't met any other Peep Show fans in real life. I made my friend watch it, but he is a sports nerd (confusing isn't it?) and he liked it a bit but he would still watch most sports over it anyday and he didn't watch any episodes after he saw a few when he was bored. He's a stubborn retard anyway, a bit like Mark.
Sophie Winkleman (Big Suze) has just got married to the man 31st in line to the throne, Lord Frederick Windsor, son of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent.
I can't help but think Sophie must have had some doubt over the marriage. Yes, you're now officially royalty, but then again your mother-in-law is Princess Michael of Kent.
Big Suze for Queen!

But you're still royalty. It's a no-brainer.
No. It's a brainer. I had to think about it. It's a real brainer... a real brainer.

I think that most people are not strong minded enough to watch a show which they have never heard of.
Maybe in series 6, they'll eat the baby instead of a dog.
