Laughing out loud

Please explain, how did you get mistaken for a BNP supporter?

It was a couple of years back.

A no2 haircut, green bomber jacket, jeans and cherry red Doctor Marten's. When people see that they automatically presume you are a fascist. But I'm not though, I'm a scooterist/mod. The skinhead movement was never fascist, just a continuation/development of the mods, they drew from black culture, especially the music. This is exactly the point that the director of 'This Is England', Shane Meadows, makes in the film; he shows both sides of the public's perception of them.

Anyway, I had come out of college and was on the way to Leeds City Centre when I went into this student cafe (to get a coffee as it happens) I saw these guys in black suits queuing up. They saw me and started clapping and have me the tumbs up. Each was wearing a BNP lapel badge. I had totally forgotten that just 100 yards away in Leeds Crown Court the BNP leader Nick Griffin was on trail for enciting racial hatered in a pub.

I was out the door and away.

Do you think I'm laughing? Don't take the piss, okay!

That's what you get for dressing up a like a Weetabix. :P

I once got mistaken for a shop assistant in Brantano's - we walk in different circles...

It's not nice being mistaken for a shop assistant even when you are one!

I had one yesterday. Angry I've heard they've got into trouble (no!) by using American peoples pictures on the leaflet, probably as they couldn't get anyone that looked normal to be on them.

And they showed Americans?

Yes, if he had the option. Although mainly the management for being insensitive to the large proportion of their work force who the BNP do not tend to include amongst their number. Hard to believe, but there are some things more important than business.

No - how can you? He's not there to judge. just doing his job I'm sure. If it was totally independent decisions then his employers surely wouldn't allow him to do that in his working time.

Yeah, my friends say I'm a killjoy too. :P

Yep. :P

I'm way more shocked to have read Kelvin McKenzie in the Sun today.

Vote for give them a Bloody Nose Party.

Scarcely the DaVincci code but still, the Sun slyly supporting the BNP is beyond depressing.

Yes it's surprising with their normal high quality news reporting:

The Sun is a bit like a Rotweiller in a tutu. Funny right upto the point it goes for your throat.

Their petition to sack those social workers was not only mean spirited it's put more kids at risk.

I'm starting to find the Daily Mail more palatable.

Now that's what I call a daily digest.
hmmm mmmmm ho ho ho he he mmm..yes *twirls mustache in approval*

Why do you feel the need to find ANY of the tabloids palatable? :)

They're entertaining and are a good way to take the pulse of what ignorant people are being told to think.

I also read a broadsheet and the internet news feeds.

I don't write topical sketches anymore, I just don't have anything better to do.
