I have had a stop motion idea in my head for ages, I have props. I have my morph (well possibly his 'special' little brother') but the thing that is really doing my head in before I start is lip synching.
Anyone tried, and hints or tips, or manuals of stuff. Was thinking maybe just do the movement and maybe add an animated mouth to cheat 
Maybe lip synching is too tricky for a first attempt? Would it work with just a voice over? I would watch something like Wallace and Gromit on slow motion to see how it's done - but I think it would be a bit too ambitious for a beginner. But then I've only done a couple of stop motion animations and maybe there is an easy way of doing it.
I'm doing some stop motion with talking soon and I'm planning to animate it first as a simple 2D animation on the computer with frame numbers on. Then when I stop motion it I will have my animatic to reference/copy.

I love stop motion; it's laborious work but the results can be well worth the effort. Are you using a digital camera or a cam corder. Cam Corder is easier. What frame grabber are you using? There's various options. Here's a good review of some:

Re lip synching. You need to record the voice track first. Then use a time track to work out the appropriate mouth shapes at the appropriate frame. Software like Magpie will make life easier. But, as Dolly says, I'd try to use voiceovers, to start with. Check out this chief - very simple claymations, but effective:
