Horrible Histories

It's a sad day indeed when childrens TV is funnier than adult comedy. But CBBC's Horrible Histories consistently out ha-has anything on adult sketch shows at the moment. B3TA just ran a little article on it too so I thought I'd mention it.

Here's a taste if you've not seen it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YjeqRHdBwkY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_aNc5ijaHYs

Also look out for Sorry, I've Got No Head. Again, really, really strong material.

I saw Sorry, I've Got No Head when they did a sketch on a deranged arkela using his Scout troop to get revenge on his ex-wife.

Very funny and very dark. Worked nicely with them calling her new lover "the fancy man." Proof one can be funny without being rude.

Yeah, I'm loving Horrible Histories. It's got a good team of writers and actors behind it.

I like the songs best. Here's an example: Born 2 Rule - The 4 Georges

It's definitely in the same vein as Sorry, I've Got No Head. Here's SIGNH's version of the Witchfinder General: The Witchfinder General in a shop

Actually that was a show called "Stupid" starring Marcus Brigstocke. I know this because my mate Dean Wilkinson wrote it.

Caught a bit of Horrible Histories - the Caligula one - which I thought might be a bit much for da kiddies, but they handled it very well and it did make me laugh.

Speaking of Brigstocke - I used to really enjoy his 'We are History' programmes.

How apt. ;)

As for Horrible Histories, I've thought it to be pretty good. Does 'miss' a bit for me, but very enjoyable.

Still not got around to watching Sorry, I've Got No Head.

I watched this show today. Excellent stuff!! :D

"Wat is his name."

:)

I likes it.

Is Sorry I've Got No Head the one with the teacher (played by Magda from Lead Balloon) in deepest Scotland with only one pupil?
I looooove those sketches.

I caught the end of this today. It was good and it's full of all the famous comedians!

It is aimed at kids after all.

Horrible Histories is great, better than I'm Sorry, I've Got No head. It's better than some adult sketch shows in my opinion too - less repetitive.

It si required watching round here with a ten year old around it just is!.. we agree the best song is Charles II rap. "Im a fire stopper..."... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P2kyNbZc7oc

Sorry I've got no head, is great too, as was Stupid (and yes the scout group revengers was one of the best sketches)

I love that boy-band style song they did with the four Kings/Princes.
It's brilliant.
