Everyone loves Only Fools and Horses. Right? Page 5

I love it but it's a familiar thing with long running shows

They start marrying everyone off and having babies

Yawn!

Becomes less of a sitcom and more of a soap opera

In the early days with all the dodgy deals and scams and money making exploits it was great fun

Casandra having a miscarriage?

Not so much

But it's the natural progression I guess

Then it should have ended after they found the watch

But no they had to keep bringing it back for the sake of it

Some of the very last specials were a bunch of arse

Yes, the story was complete when they became millionaires.
I think it was supposed to be the last one and it should have been.

People talk about the trilogy of '96 being the perfect ending - and it was. However, the obvious joke of bringing it back which Sullivan rightly said, was that them losing the millions was all part of the gag. It wouldn't be right in John Sullivan's mind, after a few years of ending it, for them to be millionaires.

I totally get that. We know it wasn't very strong, however, they did their best without Buster and Kenneth. Much harder than they would have first thought in bringing it back and making things work I imagine.
