Video editing software...

Video editing software - what would you recommend?

Price no option - Avid
Just as good but cheaper - Final Cut Pro

Cheers RC :)

Sony Vegas Video

Adobe Premeire or Final Cut equally as clunky and rubbish as each other.

Agreed, Sony Vegas is very easy to learn and very intuitive but it just doesn't have the support / plug ins / free downloads that are available for Avid or Final Cut Pro.

I think it depends what you want to do with it. If you're just looking for a programme to cut and paste material you want to put on You Tube, use the Windows Movie Maker that comes free with your PC.

There are tuturials on how to use it on You Tube itself.

Whichever one you choose, just remember to save your work every few minutes, editing software always makes things crash. :O

Mmm!

Is Avid liquid any good? Hard to learn?

If you are computer minded, then no. If, like me, you only use computers to look at porn and paste silly messages on the BCG, then yes.

I suppose your right. I like barebones I make most my own stuff so don't really need for plugins.

Windows Movie Maker :D

If you want to pursue an editing career, Final Cut is prob way to go. Sony Vegas, I've heard, is fairly intuitive. But don't dismiss Adobe Premiere. Or more to the point, Adobe Production Premium (a package deal comprising Premiere, Illustrator, After Effects, Photoshop, Soundbooth, Flash, Keying software and a few other bits). I mention, due to your drawing ability: you can animate using both Flash and After Effects. It's an amazing package.

Thanks all :)

Gone for the Sony Vegas Pro.

Adobe Production Premium sounds great Simon. Currently running Photoshop CS3 + Illustrator already, do like the sound of Flash and After Effects tho.
