When I was a lad, you were considered a great big poof/puff if you didn't jump off Beecher's Brook. The worst part was landing awkwardly and rolling into the water-filled ditch.
Television never managed to convey the sheer size of that fence, so, as someone who has jumped - rolled - splashed, I can tell you it's sodding big.
