I bought a bass with the $300 refund I got for the Who concert that was canceled when John Entwistle died in 2002. I should probably try to learn how to play it someday.

Yes yes yes. Do it now now now.

I have a piano, elec guitar, accoustic guitar, recorders, mini xylophone thingy, melodica, other stuff I can't remember. This band will soon be an orchestra. Shall we write our own song for Britain's Got Talent? The BSG song?

I quite like a fat Strat.

Laughing out loud

Learn to play keyboards.

If you can play keyboards you have potentially thousands of instruments at your fingertips. Drums, guitars, bass, brass, strings, every single instrument in the orchestra, every conceivable percussion instrument, choirs, pianos, etc etc.

Sampling has come a long, long way and it's now almost impossible to tell the difference between a virtual instrument played on a keyboard and a real one. Keys rule.

Although by default, playing a guitar LOOKS cooler. :)

I could come out of retirement and play the trumpet again although there was a lot of booing the last time I did that. And that was my mum Teary

Sootyj can rhythmically slap his arse and make a sound not unlike Keith Moon at his best.

Has no one mentioned the harp? I love all string instruments. I even made sure I had a harpsichord at my wedding. It was brought specially into the church and played Bach's Goldberg Variations.

I always drifted into the shadows in music class.

I see that Griff spotted The Shadows bit! in 'I always drifted into the shadows...' There's this as well, coincidentally:

The Drifters became The Shadows in early 1959 to avoid confusion with the American R&B vocal group The Drifters.

Or was it deliberate, Nil?

I wish it was but, sadly, no.
