Terry & June Page 3

It has one of those theme tunes/sequences I'll probably remember until the day I die. One of those shows I watched with my parents in the 1970s and haven't seen since.

I may be getting my time frames mixed up a bit...

Well, a little. The first series was broadcast at the tail end of 1979. The other 8 ran right through to 1987. But with the barely-different Happy Ever After having run from 1974 to 1979, it's ... well, you get the point.

(I am so very sad.)

I think they repeated it on UK Gold or UK Drama a few years ago at 5 in the morning

Yes. UKTV Drama were repeating it at seemingly random times. Mid afternoon I know for certain, but a 5am repeat slot sounds very likely.

Just discovered a Happy Ever After episode, Terry In Court, was remade as a Terry and June episode

At least 2 were. I've listed them on our Happy Ever After guide where I've noted them. May also be earlier T&J eps I've not seen in a while and so haven't noticed.

Anybody know anything about a DVD box-set of the complete collection?

Although I don't actively expect one, I wouldn't be surprised if they announced one - not before Christmas, however.

They've released all the series so I expected a box-set. I'll just have to buy them all individually.

Not even the reliable DVD companies can be bet on to package up into complete box sets - certainly not 2 Entertain.

having just registered on this site I was a bit disappointed to not find any information on the sitcom Terry and June. Also I'd like to find out more about Terry Scott

Shame so many people hate this show. It's a nice gentle comedy, quite underrated. :(

I agree with that, I'm still baffled at the BBC axing the show when it was still doing well in the ratings. Some people used to sneer at shows like Terry And June, No Place Like Home and Dont Wait Up for being too middleclass for some reason Huh?

Given Terry Scott's health, how long he may have been able to carry on doing the show is questionable anyway. I think, whilst it probably could have gone on a little longer, they retired the show at about the right time.

True I suppose :|

I'm not sure they do, not now. At the time it was coming to the end of it's run it certainly fell from favour. But I look back on it now with quite some fondness. It certainly doesn't inspire in me the same sort of rage Bread does.

How a show like T nad J was ever considered uncool I don't know. Now I like alternative comedy, but I also think there was room for both Terry Amd June and alternative humour

June: (to the photographer) 'You can take me on the sofa.'

Terry: 'JUNE!'

:D

Loved Terry And June.

I wonder if Happy Ever After will be released on DVD?

Possibly, but I wouldn't bet on it any time soon.
