Countries you've not visited but want to Page 5

I can highly recommend Denmark. France is a shit hole. Ireland is just anywhereintheUK but with accents that make you want to die.

I also give Denmark the thumbs up, great country. France also good, though I've only ever lived and worked there - never went there for a holiday with any English tourists. Ireland, good for drinking and studying and imitating accents (and learning quaint phrases such as: If ma fookin woman did dat ah'd fookin batter 'er and batter 'er agin).

I'd love to go to Egypt, but it looks a tad hot and I suspect the food is shit.

The heat won't kill you. Nothing wrong with the shawarma, salads, bread, ice cream and Cleopatra cigarettes.

Aaron, you've been f**king everywhere.
I hate you.

Too far away for me.
A person who doesn't enjoy planes should not spend an entire day on one.

I've never done a direct London-Australia flight or spent an entire day on a plane. Usually break-up the trip with stop-overs or stays in Dubai, Bucharest or New Delhi, then in Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta or Bali. Or wherever else one fancies.

Too much stress.
Furthest I've been was a 14 hour flight and that was too long. (and that's exactly how long it would take to get to a stop-over type place.) :)

A 14-hour flight is better than a cramped 3-day train ride across India! Or even a 1-hour bus-ride in Java (crazy speeding drivers, narrow roads, no overtaking etiquette).

I'm going to Cuba in a couple of days.

Not sure I agree with this. Dublin's pretty much like any other big city, but that's not reflective of most of Ireland.

I've travelled extensively across the UK, and although not much in Ireland, have taken in much of the different settings, if you will (town, city, village, countryside, etc). I really couldn't see any significant difference to pretty much anywhere within Great Britain.

Oh, except it was so hot that the roads were actually melting. Never experienced that here.

Whereabouts?

Anywhere but Varadero

Ha! I bet it would!

Aaron have you considered Greenland? The northern part.

Indeed I have. In fact, I've scouted it out as a possible summer retreat.

Incidentally, the Mediterranean coast of Egypt (near Alexandria) is not unpleasant if you go at the right time of year. Cairo and the Red Sea are killers.

Motorcyclists in the American south learn to carry a small plank of wood to put under their kickstands lest it sink into the asphalt and eventually cause the bike to topple over.

Nope Cayo Guillermo (northeast coast).

:( Still touristy. The only Cubans you meet are the ones that clean your toilets.

Still, when you fly in, take a look at the airport and remember the Canadians built that one, over the objections of their friendly southernly neighbours :D ;) It used to be a corrugated tin shack, literally.
