Bournemouth Uni Course Page 3

Most importantly, they give you time to write, and save you from the hellish drudgery of working 9-5.

I went to Bournemouth for a bit - MultiMedia Journalism. Spent more time in Dylan's than lecture theatres, if I'm honest.

I'm sure the people who wanted to get on the course but couldn't 'cause you were taking up one of the places are thrilled... ;)

The course is full this year. :(

If I'm still an aspiring writer next year then I will seriously consider it though. 23 isn't too old to start my second BA is it?

If you already have a BA, do the MA course. If they can't teach you how to write a script in a year - they probably can't teach you. A lot of these courses are filled up with padding modules and the like.

My BA was in and unrelated subject though and I got a 2:2. I think I'll just carry on with my free writing at evenings and weekends!

That doesn't always matter. Most unis will accept a few students to an MA who don't have the normal qualifications. Or any at all if you're a mature student. (which I think might be anyone over 23. Or is it 26?)
Especially if the course is in something creative like writing and part of the application process is to show a portfolio of work.

What she said.

:)

Blimey, 21 is a 'mature student' in the UK. :O

Like yourself, I got a 2:2 in an unrelated subject but was accepted onto an MA course in TV production. Although, it wasn't at Bournemouth or at a University with anywhere near that kind of reputation. Still, I now have an MA in TV production. Just a pity they cancelled the scriptwriting module due to lack of interest-possibly due to the head of the course telling everyone not to take it cos it would be easier for him! It's worth a try looking into the MA, nothing to lose and all that!

They wouldn't have been as good at drinking as me, so they'll just have to deal with it :)

Fair enough.
Everyone has to have a talent. :)
