The Last Taboo?

The sitcom Im writing at the moment has a twisted character and their is one joke in particular that I feel will be controversial.

This got me thinking of all the taboos that have been broken in comedy over the recent years and if there is any left.

Is there anything you would not write about or feel uncomfortable to watch?

Or have all the taboos been broken and are we now left with repetition that will slowly erode British comedy?

Your thoughts please.

Pigeons, I'm a D.O.P

Have there been any sitcoms with a paedophile character who indulges in coprophagia?

The Last Taboo? Is that one there's only one sickly fruity vodka drink left at a party?

What's that mean in English Dolly?

:)

Wasn't there a musical about a paedophile called Ronald with a girl who sang:

"I met him on a Monday and my heart stood still -

Taboo Ron Ron Ron - Taboo Ron Ron" ?

Maybe. :) It's early....

The trouble with taboo breaking is that what at first feels fresh and daring, very soon gets tiresome. Such as Nighty Night - at first funny, but soon a pain in the arse.

This makes the assumptions that: the only fresh comedy is about taboo-breaking; and anything that doesn't break taboo is mindless repetition.

I'd disagree with either.
