Why does Torchwood suck so bad? Page 3

I want the StarTrek crossover where they all bum Kirk.

There's no way that James T Kirk would allow himself to get bummed.
Unless the safety of the ship depended on it & it was a sexy green alien with 4 breasts and a strapon.

"Teach me this thing you humans call - taking it up the wrong un"

:D

You're not allowed to post spoilers regarding the new Trek movie. Laughing out loud

Oh come on now him and Spock you know they did.

Bones was just narked that they let him watch but not jump in.

The new ones look like they are going to. Chris Pine definitely looks up for it on the magazine covers.

Torchwood is unsuitable for children, which is not quite the same thing as being grown up. Sometimes Dr. Who can be very grown up indeed.

As time's gone on I've found myself preferring so-called 'kids' TV and films to what constitutes as mature, adult entertainment. We love Doctor Who and Harry Potter in our house because they have all the darkness, thrills and humour without feeling the need to make the whole thing mean-spirited and depressing.

It really does seem that film and TV producers think 'adult' has to mean gore, sex and being miserable. Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't these factors more appealing to your average 15-year old than adults?

Shows back in the 1960s and 1970s had to be more creative with what they showed and what they were allowed to say and, in my opinion, were all the better for it.

Look at the difference between the original Outer Limits and the 1990s remake. The original, although no patch on The Twilight Zone, was creepy, inventive and well shot. What's more, the whole family could watch it. Skip on 30 years... Tits. The same rubbish about aliens who may or may not be our friends. More tits. Downbeat, predictable twists. Even more tits. They completely missed the point.

I can't help seeing Doctor Who and Torchwood in the same way.

All those tits make it sound quite good.

Well, to be fair, I may have exaggerated the amount of tittage. But I'm remembering when I was 15 and thought it was quite good. Adult glaikit can't watch a programme based on tits alone.

After hours of crap (Something Borrowed, From Out the Rain) I finally got to the episode Adrift. I really liked it the episode and thought it was quality stuff. As good as some of the good Doctor Who episodes. Ignore how ridiculously annoying Gwen was and how downright evil the mom who lost her son was, it was still the best Torchwood episode to date and the first one I actually like.

You MIGHT find that after you find one you like the others will grow on you.

But probably not.

(Didn't you like Countrycide? I loved that one.)

Which one was that? Was that the one with the hics who hunted people?
If so I didn't really like that one much. It wasn't a bad episode I juset didn't like it.

I think nowadays it's the drawnoutability
Having said that I've just resumed the last episode half an hour in & I'm on one of the good bits I think.
