Apple Mac Laptop vs. PC Laptop Page 5

I love my Mac Book Pro. It is shiny and pretty and does nice things. Also 'it just works'. Beautifully.

Are you a Mac man or PC man, Paul?

Paul's making the point that us Mac users just like the design and aren't concerned with the functionality.

He is wrong of course. :)

No, it is a generalisation but I have known a fair few people in the past who have bought a Macbook because it's pretty, my IT teachers best friend bought one because it matched the colour of her room :|

Seeeeeen. Well he is right I suppose but to be serious for a moment I was never into Apple but I got fed up with my PC crashing all the time, so I decided to try a Mac and I haven't looked back. Best £1300 I've ever spent. That's a pair of boots and shoes I had to sacrifice.

£1300!!!!! I could by an top of the range Laptop for that price I probably still have enough beer tokens to last me a month!

oldcowgrazing, Paul W is saying that typical Mac owners are shallow, attention seeking, wannabes who ponce around coffee shops with a computer they bought based on looks rather then how it works.

Of course, I would never even suggest that, but that Paul W is quite cutting and sarcastic (and mean to children). ;)

Whoops, too late, he's just admitted what a judgemental person he can be. Never judge a Mac Book by it's cover.

I'll give you shallow and attention seeking wannabe, but poncing around in coffee shops? Nah. I only take my MBP with me if I need to. Sorry but too many nimble-fingered chancers around. I ponce around my house with it though, especially when visitors come round. I show them holiday snaps of Cuba on my MBP. It's all about the ooohs and ahhhhhs.

When you say 'visitors' do you actually mean 'social workers'? :D

I am, only joking, of course. I do think Macs work very well but I'm so used to my PC, then when I get on a Mac, I'm like 'who's doing what now?'. Does the mouse still only have one button? That would always freak me out.

Yeah them [social workers] too.

I thought the same about Macs too-when I saw friends and colleagues using them they looked very alien to me and I didn't think I'd get to grips with all the short cuts etc. but they are surprisingly very intuitive.

I'm not an IT guru just a consumer who appreciates a reliable, quick and pretty to look at(!) piece of machinery. ;)
