Waiting for the Etonians?

So it looks like the smearing scandal may be the death knell for Gordon Brown's flawed and failing government. And Call me Dave Cameron's conservative future is the new reality. Is this a good thing? Could they be worse than the current crew? If he's being handed a golden axe to slice through public funding how it that going to affect us; students, parents, teachers?

And will any of this affect comedy?

Hail Etonia

Bonus points for identifying quickly.

David "Call me Dave" Cameron.

Anthony "Call me Tony" Blair.

Never did understand how Labour got away with that one.

"Call me Tony" Blair.

Dialing tone.

More it was Tony.
Because he's hugely charismatic and is going to be the next pope.
But this isn't meant to be a generic shit on Labour thread.
More what does the future hold for us?

The great thing about a new government is that they are not welded to policies that are self-evidently failing; they did not initiate them so they are not bound to maintain the pretence that they are working. The thing to do is vote the Tories in, then vote them out again before they have the chance to do any real harm.

I'm voting Lib dem I've read their policies and I think they're sensible!
My local MP is redder than a spanked baboon's bum.

Years of massive debt and high taxes. No matter who forms the next Government, taxes will rise and public services will be cut.

Well, unless it's the same Labour lot again, in which case the country's doomed for far longer than it already is.

That seems quite doubtful, I wonder if a coalition government could work?
Vince Cable seems pretty mustard for a politician and Dave seems to be at least able to keep his troops in line.

Unlikely. Everyone's too stubborn. (Society included, not just in the village.) Wouldn't go with the British psyche, I don't think.

Foolish humans, all political parties exist to con us out of more tax money.

They don't actually improve our lives, they just put themselves in positions of power in order to grab as much cash as possible.

The Etonians want to stay on top and ensure they we are all below them - economically, socially and intellectually - what they say goes and there's enough spineless, forelock tugging, back stabbing, money hungry toadies to keep them in power.

This country is rapidly descending into a third world corrupt dictatorship where a scant few control the destinies of millions. When I get enough cash together, I'm off.

Proof that cloning humans is going on.

And that's just the Labourite ones.

I only vote for politicians who are also followers of Tarvu

Well when the expenses report come out it'll be interesting who's been naughty and who's been nice.
There are a few genuinely moral politicos left in this country. Tony Benn comes to mind (even if he's an idiot) and I don't think Gordon Brown has ever been caught nest feathering.

The thing is we have a pretty decent democratic system (not perfect). It's just that people neither bother to vote nor to educate themselves.

If you don't want Lib,Lab or Con then join a minority party. The Greens may never run the country but they could probably swing some votes and lobby.

Political inertia is the route to dictatorships.
