Which head?
I'm fairly certain there's only one I could affect.
Quote: chipolata @ April 16 2009, 4:48 PM BSTI like David Baddiel. And he's actually not a bad novelist.
I don't think his 'Student Grant' manner helps me but he does have all the hallmarks of the Cambridge Footlights mafia about him to add to a very lengthy, privileged list.
Is the 'Cambridge mafia' a bad thing to you, or a good thing...?
Well, I don't think its healthy. They're seems to be an awful lot of them in comedy and they don't seem overburdened with talent a lot of them. There's enough of us like that already with those qualities. Anyway, it doesn't seem to hinder you let's put it that way. However, I do know someone who went to Cambridge and got a double first like Baddiel. Chemistry, I think. In fact, I'm about to meet him for coffee.
Blind date?
Well, if I've met him before it's a bit difficult to have a blind date. However, he's not the best looking chap in the world so being blind might have it's benefits.
Quote: Mark @ April 16 2009, 12:35 PM BSTNice impressions Renegade Carpark, but I really can't agree with you on the Michael McIntyre front... his material is very strong and much more varied than just looking at odd names for things.
Congratumalations to Mark for making our 400,000th post.

Quote: Maurice Minor @ April 15 2009, 6:41 PM BSTAaargh. Can't bear Michael McIntyre. His voice just grates- a faked wobbly RP accent. Combined with his over made-up face and perma-grin...
His voice and face used to really annoy me too, but I've quite warmed to him now. Not really sure why though. Perhaps I decided he had better material.

Aw, Julian Clary is ace. He should be on TV more.
Quote: Yellows 586 @ April 15 2009, 9:33 PM BSTLittle Britain pioneered a lot of new comedy?!? Their first series was a complete rip off the League of Gentlemen
As the scripts were edited by one of the Gents, that's really far from surprising.
Quote: Timbo @ April 15 2009, 10:01 PM BSTI do not think it pays to be over-analytical about comedy, but the problem with a lot of these comedians is that they are so overexposed it becomes difficult not to see through their often very limited schtick.
Mostly depends on how analytical you've trained your mind to be.

I talked to Mark Gatiss about that. He said he didn't realise how alike they were until someone else pointed it out.
