Having just watched an old repeat of the New Avengers after a bottle of wine, I am absolutely convinced that it was the best programme of the 70s .
Having Macnee would have been enough for me, but add Gareth Hunt & Joanne Lumley to the mix...
Tell me that's not TV gold
The New Avengers
I'm telling you it isnt.
It is something I've been trying to get in to. I stayed up for it last night and I really enjoyed what I saw, but due to having a few beers, I drifted off. It looked interesting though and I may decide to find out more infomation about the show.
It was good at the time.
Not a patch on Steed and Emma 'Sexpot' Peel.
Oh, and if anyone mentions the film, that will be bad.
The film wasn't so bad.
I think these episodes were quite good- I was quite surprised as I thought they were supposed to be tosh. But then again, I've never actually seen the originals.

It looked great, but the editor f**ked it up!
Perhaps I should make the Avengers next on my list. I have never watched a single episode...only the movie...which only gives me deterrents to not watch it.
Trust me Curt - the originals were the greatest. The Steed/Peel relationship was fantastic, cool stories and great theme tune.

Of course the originals were Steed and some bloke played by Ian Hendry and then Honor Blackman replaced him. Never saw any of those though because honestly I am too young.
But then Diana Rigg arrived which I remember well and have the whole lot on DVD. Got a bit silly at times and then of course she was replaced by Linda Thorsen who was also very sexy.
But Joanna Lumley was - and still is - sexier than most other women on TV. Did you see her in Norway last week in the Ice Bar and watching the Northern Light. What a spectacle - and so was the Northern lights. That voice is just sooooo incredible!
Oops. I stand corrected. Stiil, Diana Rigg was, indeed still is, a fox.
Most definitely - or Dame Diana to you.

I couldn't get past the stilted manner they spoke in; they'd studied the speech patterns from the TV series but got it all horribly wrong.
I've still never seen the film.
