George Evans RIP

I just read about this in my local paper. He died aged 84 and was a writer of shows such as The Navy Lark, The Dick Emery Show, Up Pompeii and wrote sketches for Tommy Cooper and Les Dawson.

Apparently he was born in Cardiff but moved to Sutton in 1959 to work as a personal writer for John Pertwee.

Unless it means the film, not Up Pompeii! (which was written by Talbot Rothwell and Sid Colin), but otherwise sounds pretty impressive. RIP.

Yeah - I wondered about that. Unless he was a bit-contributer.

I bet he died a few times before then.
