Have just sent a revised version of a short off to little pieces of gold. Going to work on an expanded version for a further comp next month and see if it might one day grow into a full size play!
What are you writing? Page 10

Do you still write in a shed?
How many hours a day do you write?
Do one of those 'My Writing Day' descriptions they always do in magazines!
Lol
I usually set myself a target for the day and then faff about. It depends what the deadline is really. I did write an hour ep of something once in about five days which was about fourteen thousand words. If I have storylined something it is easy to write quicker! I have found that out.
Unfortunately I have no shed anymore since moving. I do have an office but I generally sit downstairs on the sofa with my lap top on a cushion on my lap!
Also it depends what the weather is doing and what kind of mood I am in!
New book out next week!
Quote: Marc P @ May 30 2011, 11:14 AM BSTI have got a character called Bible Steve in it - so that might work!
Unfortunately Sootyj it is set in London! But I like the thinking!
He's the bloke who likes to choke in the big smoke.
It's got thrills it's a gripper Mark P's new Jack the Ripper!

Hee, thanks!

That's how I spend most of my writing time life.
I thought it was customary for rejected manuscripts to be returned. I've just had a lovely polite email which ends 'please be assured that your manuscript will be shredded and disposed of appropriately'.
Aw. I think you have to specifically ask for it back (and provide SAE etc).

And by now I will just get a black sack full of little bits of paper...
I can always print off another but it was the mere fact that it was being shredded and I didn't get the chance to ask for it back that was a little depressing. But that is the lot of the writer.
Quote: Marc P @ May 30 2011, 10:45 AM BSTAm writing a novel to be finished next month. Anybody got any good ideas?
Isn't it customary to have an idea for a novel first, then write it?
Also...
What am I writing?
I'm adapting my novel into a screenplay.

Obviously not once you've got an agent.

Good stuff.
Ideas for MarcP's next novel,
Invasion of the working class tourists!
The who drank all the bloody whiskey mystery!
5 go mad in my back garden and get 2 barrells of buck shot up the backside!
Quote: 404 Not Found @ May 30 2011, 7:00 PM BSTI'm currently writing a song which I'm going to submit to The Treason Show if I can get the words to fit.
It's called Super Injunction and it's to the tune of the ABBA song Super Trouper.
You could have the words "super duper" as the first line of chorus, then the second line could start with injunction.
e.g.
Su-per du-per
Injunction filed against you

Didn't Not the nine o'clock news do ine called Super duper?
The draft I'm working on crams the words "Super Injunction" into the Super Trouper" part. I know it's an extra sylable but I think it could possibly work.
Su-per Trooou-per
Su-per Injunc-tion
Is that workable?
I'm particularly pleased with the line...
Facing twenty thousand of your friends
Replaced by ...
Facing twenty thousand of your tweets
It's still very much a work in progress.

I'm not sure... but, thinking about it, it does sound familiar now.
It's still very much a work in progress.
Good luck with the song.
