Cars you love but can never own

Similar in many respects to my other thread. But what cars do you like but can never own?

I'll start with some pretty standard cars.

Volvo C70

Why I can Never Own
1, I'm not a farmer.
2, People thinking I'm police and slowing down all the time
3, I have a few points and if engine size is above 2ltr I have to pay in actual blood.

Fiat 500GTI

Image
Why I can Never Own
1, I'm a 20-odd year old guy.
2, Fiats are rubbish.

Laughing out loud

(I read that as "20-odd year old gay" and was most disappointed to realise it wasn't.)

Batmobile. Bloody billionaire playboys get all the good stuff.

I like this car...

But I can't own it 'cos I can't drive.
Suppose I could buy it to look at.

Merc W123 T-Model. *sigh*

But:

1. Would need my own garage and welding equipment.
2. Would need my own oil spring.

Very innovative car, excellent design. (Edit: Just noticed that's a 159, I meant the 156. But they look quite similar...)

But:

1. Italian.
2. Would need trailer for exchange engines on long journeys.

Audi A2. Awesome car, technologically ahead of its time.

1. It's an Audi.
2. It's really hard to get.
3. It's a bit small.
4. Actually, I can't afford *any* car.

Escort Mexico - Because it looks cool.

Jaguar XJ6

Rover P6 1973

I love them all but could never own a working one as they're all too old and I know nothing about cars.

My first car was a Rover P6 though. Cost me £50. Drove it to the MOT, which it failed, drove it back, sold it again for £50. :(

Love the Rover. :)

:) I also had a Triumph TC (parked behind the Rover in the above pic). I love those old cars, a lot more style than nowadays offerings. They all look the same to me. :D

Yeah. My favs are cars from the 70s to mid-80s. Like that Merc.

Or this E23 BMW:

I especially like them in typical 70s colours, like brown, gold, green, orange. :)

Excellent. They're probably all crap, but they look nice. :D I'd actually take any of the cars in that Rover pic including the Maxi (which were awful apparently). Love the quirky shapes, and you're right about the colours. My P6 was mustard yellow, and my Triumph was brown. :D

A mini - for reasons explained on other threads

I learnt how to drive in that W123. It was like a castle on wheels. It was a Diesel, though, and when it was cold in the morning the engine would stop sometimes. One day I was driving around a corner when it happened and of course the servo failed, too. I had to pull at the steering wheel almost with my full weight to get around the corner. The bloody thing weighs about 1.7 tons. :)

(Mustard yellow is an awesome colour, btw. :))

Laughing out loud I can imagine you hanging from the steering wheel trying to turn. Did you need a cushion too? ;)

(It was awesome, but a wreck) :D
