Anything else spring to mind?

No, to be honest - apart from Krusty, of course.
There just seems to be a residual memory of that sort of character.
(The evil clown turns up in a lot of horror films.)
There have certainly been some nasty Santas....
Just didn't seem as fresh as the rest of it.

But, don't get me wrong, I LOVED the show.

Picky.Picky.Picky

I missed the first episode so is it worth catching up with now? I'm guessing, from interviews I've read, all six characters killed somebody and that's why they're being blackmailed? Should I just wait for the DVD?

Of course it's worth catching up with, the first episode was great. And we have no idea yet what they all did.

Murdered someone on a murder weekend?

I loved it. It was sooooo weird, and I loved it.

Put it this way chip, unless you actually watch it you can bugger off with your worthless opinions. ;)

After you've seen it however, you can come here and slag it off as much as you like.

(...damn.)

Re: Evil Clowns

Personally speaking, I haven't seen that many sitcoms with evil clowns in them.

How come no one complains when we see the same family / work / flatshare sitcom characters repeated ad infinitum, but people freak out because they had an evil clown on the Simpsons 12 years ago?

Go Evil Clowns!

He's not been evil yet anyway.
Just grumpy.

Well, quite; he's more of a disgusting, foul, arsey, rubbish clown than evil so far.

I don't know, when he put on that metal comb attachment to brush the little girl's hair, it certainly resonated sinister overtones to me.

Of course, he's not a patch on Papa Lazarou - who technically was a Ring Master and not a clown.

That girl was Reece's daughter. :)
I'm guessing he would have felt a bit awkward pulling her hair and forcing lipstick all over someone else's kid. Heh.

Well, as long as he's mentally scarring his own kids, that's all right then. :)

Ha. I bet her friends are so jealous of her.
(I am!)

Thought it might be his daughter. I used to work in social services. I think I might phone them up and ask them to check if everything is alright round the Shearsmith household.

Don't know if it's been mentioned but does anyone think Dawn French's character was Pauline-esque? No pens in this case. Come to think her husband (Steve Pemberton) looked like Arthur Lowe.
