I like to change the lyrics of crap songs while doing housework such as:

"I really can't be arsed right now, so I'll just do it later"

rather than the real version:

"I think I'd better leave right now, before I fall any deeper"

. . . which is a bit rubbish, frankly - if only the writer had called me first.

:P

Ah yes! Just been listening to Winnie tinkling the ivories for a change and she played "Lady of Spain", which reminded me of the lyrics we used to sing in the 50s when I was a sprog and thought daring and very rude.......................

"Lady of Spain I adore you
Lift up your dress
and let me explore you"

:P

So it was you. you cad..

I was listening to Al Bowlly the other, what a superb voice..

:D

I always remember Freddie Starr singing Oh Boy and changing the lyrics.

"All of my life I've been kissing
Your left tit 'cos your left one's missing - Oh Boy!"

"Val Doonican as himself"?

That was The Intro and the Outro, by the way.

"Roy Rogers on Trigger " and (I think) "The Count Basie Orchestra on triangle."

If you look at this vid. - the photo of the group has two wolfhounds in it.

These would have belonged to Neil Innes' parents who bred them...............not a lot of people know that. My wife and I had a wolfhound in the early 80s and went to see them at their cottage about a dog and while we were there I wondered why there were photos of the Monty Python team on the walls, which I thought was a bit odd. Then they explained. :D
