What does your car say about you? Page 4

I'm 23 and am on my 3rd car. I've had citreons and peugeots. Good nippy cars.

Mmmmmmmmmm 306?

No.

Anyway... moving on.

Spoil Sport :P

I went round a friend's house once and he passed me this VW Beetle enthusiasts magazine and opened it up on a double feature on a red, supped-up Beetle with spoilers, skirts, the works. The intererior was forshortened so it was a two seater (presumably to give more room for the engine in the back) and it looked fantastic. The main picture was taken in front of a stately home and the car was parked on the gravel drive - it was very impressive.

The nearest picture I can find is the following which considering it's on a race track gives you some idea of what it was like.

I said: "Very nice but why are you showing me it?".
"I've just bought it" he replied."

Now, nothing wrong with that but he was 22 and had only just past his test. Yep, it was his first car. This was 1990 and if I recall the cost was £4000 but his insurance was a staggering £1000 per year! It is perhaps no surprise that he sold it after a few months and replaced it...with metalic green Maestro!

I got to ride in both - guess which one I preferred?

Sometimes you reveal too much, Ellie. ;)

That's true.

Thanks for this thread. I started writing a piece about people and cars. This will provide me with even more material.

When I picked my car, all I was checking to see is that I could fit shoes and bags in the boot okay.
