Laura Solon questions....

Hey all, didn't actually submit any of these but like the idea. So here is a few I have thought up. Will add more. Feedback is greatly appreciated.

So, what made you want to become a priest?

When father McConnell came. My face just dropped and my mouth fell open. From the day I met him I knew that was all I wanted to do.

A convicted paedophile and reformed alcoholic. I had read a few chapters of the bible whilst in re-hab. It was the logical route I guess.

I was a banker, a surgeon, a dentist, a lawyer but it just wasn't enough. I earn more now than I ever have, so yea, definitely the money, oh, and I've learned quite a bit about Jesus too.

These are very funny. especially like the second one. Doubt they would make it onto radio 4 but funny nonetheless.

Hmmm - not really sure what the joke is in number one.

The second one - is this a joke on the supposition that plenty of catholic ministers are supposedly kiddie fiddlers?

They seem a little like things someone in high school would write to be honest. I think you need more sophistication to your jokes.

The other thing is, they should be answers to an unheard question, which brings a totally different dimension to the type of gags that might work.

Ditto.

I thought the second and third ones were funny, but the guys are right about the question. You have to at least allude to the 'unheard' question in the answer, so people realise it's a vox pop.

Hey all, thanks for your feedback, it is appreciated.

Mixed reviews I guess. Tom & Dan, my first few laughs on the site (Thanks for that). Barbs, you seem pretty hard to please....but hey, I'll get you eventually :D

Barbs : a bit harsh with the high school comment I thought but perhaps they could have been a little more sophisticated. Point noted.

Badge : I took into consideration the unheard question and thought they would have stood up quite well to be honest. Point noted.

Thanks again,
Craig

Also, a bit of misdirection can be used with the question. In my answers, I answered one as though I was answering a certain question and, at the end, you realise it's quite different.

It was shit, mind, but the idea is still a valid one!
